Spring Break

I am obviously behind on posting things. There are two posts following this one.
Spring break was a very cold and rainy week. Every time we made plans to do something, it would rain. Dan was going to take the kids to the Museum of Natural Science at the Univ of Utah but didn't know it was closed. He ended up taking the kids to the zoo. Here are pictures from that day.

During spring break I took the kids downtown to take a tour of the conference center. My friend is hostess there and takes people on tours. Katy insisted on wearing a dress because "Sister Wallace will have one on". Timing was perfect because we made it there when it was her turn to give the tour. It was kind of a cold day but the kids have fun running around temple square and the tour. Here are pictures from that

All in all we tried to make the most of the rainy week.

Jack's recorder concert

Jack was in a recorder concert. He told us about it which is an improvement because he usually doesn't tell me about these things. They had to wear a white shirt and jeans. Jack refused to wear his white church shirt. He just kept saying that no one else would have that type of shirt. I counted at least 10 kids with those shirts. Oh well, thank goodness for wal-mart and $5 Polo's. He ended up on the front row which he was so unhappy about. Jack will not be winning any Tony awards. He is really shy with things like this. He will be content to sit in a lab as long as no one is looking at him.

Katy Ballerina

We enrolled Katy in ballet in March. She loves it. She is out for the summer until school starts and she keeps saying, when the brothers (aka Jack and Noah) are back in school then she will be back in ballet. They learn actually steps and not just a dance which is great. I like that she is learning ballet steps. They did a show in May, Cinderella. Katy's class were butterflies and they danced with older girls who were sunflowers and then a even older girl was the summer fairy and she danced around them as well. It was really cute. Katy was overwhelmed at dress rehearsals but did really well in the show. Then at the curtain call she kept bowing over and over again. She moves up a class for next year so we will see how that goes. Here are some photos from her class and show.

Dressed in her butterfly costume. I had to put her hair in a bun. That was a little bit complicated since her hair is so thin. We may have to rethink for the Nutcracker in December.

Noah's Kindergarten Graduation

Noah had a graduation for kindergarten. He loves school. It actually has mellowed him a little bit. His teacher was awesome. He was so excited for his graduation. I was joking with him and told him I wasn't going to go and he just kept saying he would be so sad. Here are some photos from that day.

There was a little girl in Noah's class that had a crush on Noah. I went to the zoo on a field trip with Noah's class. This little girl, everytime she saw him she would start saying, "Noah, hi Noah, Hi. So cute. He is excited for first grade for next year. I will now only have one child at home during the school hours which is exciting for me.

Katy was so tired but she wanted to dye the eggs so here she is looking so excited.

Jack takes it very seriously

After coloring all the eggs they then decided they wanted to try the plastic egg wraps that you put around the egg and put in the hot water to shrink the plastic. Next year they decided they would just rather do that than color the eggs. Sound like a great idea to me.

Opening Day of Baseball

My boys are in baseball again. Opening day was a couple of week ago. It was nice weather that day which was very nice. Hopefully it will warm up again because it is not good when mama has to stay for baseball games in the cold.
