Swimming

For the 24th of July we were going to go to the parade but then remembered that on the days we went to the parade we end up with whining, hot and sweaty kids. Not a good combination. We decided to take the kids swimming instead. Here are a few pictures of the kids swimming. My apologies for the ones with me in it, they are a little bit frightening. I rarely I mean never put on a bathing suit and from these photos I remember why.

They all seemed to have a good time. Later that night we coated the kids with bug spray, took our TV outside and had a "drive-in movie". That fit into out budget better than the normal drive-in. On the plus side Kate could only go as far as the little bit of grass we have and the blankets we set out. There is nothing I like better than to chase my children in public. I look like the kids are in control which is easier to pretend that they don't from the safety of my own home. All in all it was a fun day.

Legos

Noah was watching something on TV and came and asked me if he could have some "lego indy and the jones". I said don't we have any Indiana Jones legos? He said no, say after me. Lego. Indy. and. the. Jones. Should I suggest a name change to Steven Spielberg? Indy and the Jones Raiders of the Lost Ark. Has a nice ring to it.

Justin, Josh and Jack

I realize that I don't take enough pictures of the other kids but Kate and Noah are always asking to take a picture. Plus they are a little bit weirder than the other ones. Justin in his braces. He got his braces about 4 weeks ago. Another 2 years to go. It was also his 17th birthday on Saturday. Happy Birthday Justin!

Jack's mullet. Dan was cutting Jack's hair and decided to make a mullet. Awesome!

Nothing better than brothers.

Dan told Jack and Noah to be boys and go out and ride there bikes. They went down a dirt road that is in front of our house and it has been raining a lot so it was very muddy in places. Jack's shoe I guess got stuck in the mud. You can't tell from this picture very well but he decided once his shoe was stuck to make a pair of mud shoes. He told me he couldn't get his shoe out of the mud so he had to walk home without his shoes. OK, so I am asked him why he couldn't pull his shoe out of the mud. He told me it was just to stuck in there. I don't understand why my children think I am a dim wit. They can't get their shoe out of mud? Yeah sure.

Noah

Noah was helping me mate socks one night and when I say mate I really mean throwing them up into the ceiling fan so they go everywhere. Gotta love help from kids. Anyhow, he was in his jammies and he found some interesting accessories in the sock basket. I had to take a picture of him. He then kept striking all these poses. I was seriously laughing so hard. Here are some of the better ones.

Katy

Here are some random pictures of Katy for the last little while. Plus on a side note...no more binkis! Technically she has two but she doesn't like them. I think that she still holds one up to her eye as she is going to sleep but oh well. They stay in her crib and she only gets them at that time. Yeah!

Garden Time

Last year we had a relatively small garden area and I got a lot of vegetables from it. This year we have four garden spots instead of the one like last year. We were able to plant a lot more items this year. We have already harvested and enjoyed the "vegetables" of Dan's labor. We had spinach and lettuce which were great! I have already pickled 12 quarts of beets, canned nine quarts of beans and have about 3 quart size bags of snow peas in my freezer. It looks like in the next couple of weeks it is going to be very busy time for me.

Dentist

It has been a long time since posting. I don't know how to upload photos to the computer so I will be posting some new photos hopefully tomorrow.
I took the boys to the dentist this morning and Jack was a little bit dizzy so of course Noah said that he was dizzy as well. I asked Jack if he thought he was going to throw up because he was a nice shade of green. He said no. Noah then piped in and informed me that his eyes were going to throw up. I said that wasn't possible and he just kept telling me to look into his eyes. Crazy boy. The other day he asked my why my hair brows were brown and his weren't. I guess we need to teach him parts of the body better. Did anyone else know that they had hair brows? I sure didn't.
