Justin went to a halloween dance on Saturday night. He needed a halloween costume and there is nothing like throwing a costume together without any notice. Dan took the challenge in hand and with an idea from Justin this is what they came up with. Now it is your turn to guess who Justin is for Halloween!

Crazy Kids

I work from home doing pretty much data entry. My computer is in a back bedroom where the only internet connection for my internet provider comes into the house. Really annoying...but oh well. I was working back here the other day and I hear Noah saying "come ere". I go out there and I find Kate and Noah watching TV. Pretty normal. However, this is where they were sitting. Warning...there is a horrible spot on the couch cushion. No it is not "potty". I think that it might be root beer. This is why the boys are only allowed to drink in the kitchen. This was as clean as I was able to get it. This is why we do not buy nice furniture. On the other cushion, jack decided to cut it open. A blanket usually sits over the couch. I never understood why my dad would complain that they couldn't have anything nice. Well, now I do...Anyhow so you got the warning.

She will be replaying the role of Anthony Perkins in Psycho. Once this was taken the knife was taken away, plus it was a butter knife. Doesn't really make the fact that she has a knife in her hand better but I obviously am not going to win for any mother of the year awards.

Noah pretending to be a cat. This is where I find him all the time watching tv. Laying on the back of the sofa. Even if I read him a story, this is where he wants to be.

Best In-Laws

I have the best in laws ever. I have had so much food from my garden that my freezer is packed with stuff that I could not can. I seriously can not fit anything more in it. This is the little freezer on top of your fridge. Unless we want to live on peppers, shredded zucchini and squash puree than we needed a freezer. We have been looking but couldn't spend a whole lot on one. We called my mother in law and asked if she knew of anyone that was selling their freezer. She said that she would look and see. She called this morning and said that they were looking and they would have one for us and bring it by this afternoon. I asked how much and she said that we would discuss it. She called later and said they were on their way. Dan asked how much and she ignored him and hung up. As we are clearing out a spot in our garage they get to our house. In their truck is a brand new freezer. It is the perfect size and I can now buy things that need to be frozen. They are the best ever. It is nice to have a set of parents since mine are on a mission in the spirit world. They are the best!! Thanks!

Walking, No Training Wheels, School and Dates

Katy is walking now. She has been able to stand up on her own, not pull herself up, but stand up on her own for awhile now. She has been walking some but the last two days she has been walking and not crawling. She looks like a drunken sailor but cute and no smell of whiskey!
Noah can ride his bike without training wheels. Dan took them off, Noah got on his bike and rode off into the sunset. OK, not the sunset but he seriously just took off. No falling, no problems getting it going. Dan decided it is because Noah has no fear. He knew he could do it and he did. He now tells everyone that his bike has no training wheels. He also calls his bike his motorcycle and believe me if you have to chase him down it feels like he is on a motorcycle.
Jack is doing very well in first grades. Has 4's (or A's) in everything and his citizenship is H. He had his first spelling test and got 100% in spelling and 100% in handwriting meaning that he used lowercase and not upper. He loves his teacher and she is a fantastic teacher so we love her as well!
Justin went on his first date. He went to the homecoming dance at his High School. Dan drove them to Salt Lake to go to dinner. (Dan went to Barnes and Nobles to wait) and then took them to the dance. He had a great time. He was so nervous but he was able to calm himself and have a great time. I am sure this will be the first of many dances to come.

Happy Birthday Kate!

It was actually Kate's birthday yesterday but yesterday was NUTS! So, her official birthday is September 30. I thought I would share some info on Kate.

• Kate was an unplanned blessing!
• The week that she was born Dan kept asking me not to go into labor on Sunday because the broncos were playing. Dan wen to church on Sunday, I stayed home. Dan got back from church and I was in labor. Dan wanted to name her Peyton but I just couldn't do it because I was sure that since she was born on "Football Sunday" people would think we named her after Payton Manning.
• Was born with tons of black hair that stood straight up. It has lightened up a bit but she will never be blond like her brothers. It has also calmed down but if you have seen photos of her in here it is still wild at times. She also had a very squished nose and not the most attrative baby at birth.
• Was 8 lbs 6 oz. A full 2 lbs bigger than Jack. Dan made the comment that it sure is nice that our boys are petite and our daughter is not. Today she weighs 20 lbs and 1 oz and is 30 1/4 inches tall. She is in the 30% for weight and 95% for height. So tall and slender, wonder where she gets that from...
• Didn't have a name for 2 days. Could not agree. Dan want Sophie or Lily. She almost was named Elizabeth. Finally we ( really me) named her Kate Christine. Not Katherine or Kaitlyn, just Kate. We call her Katy but spell it Katy and not Katie. (we just want to be a little bit different!)

Even though she was not planned, I am so blessed by having her. She is such a good baby. So much fun putting dresses on her and painting her toes. Love my little girl what more can I say!

Feeding Time

I admit that occasionally I put Katy in her high chair and leave the room. I'm horrible I know! I walked back in my kitchen and this is how I found her. Don't you wish you were that flexible? I still don't know how she got that one leg out.

Why eat dinner when I can eat my toes?

This night Dan was in charge of watching Kate. I was trying to get some work done. They came to get me and this is what I find.

Real attentive parents! Poor girl doesn't even get a bed. Has to sleep in the high chair with a dirty face. At least if she wakes up she has an instant midnight snack.

Hurray!

Noah finally decided to go to his Sunbeam class. He woke up yesterday and asked me if it was church day. I told him it was and he told us he was going to go to his class. He has told us this before and started to cry at the door so we were not optimistic. We continued to get ready and I asked him if he was going. He asked if Dad was going to go to Noah's class to. I told him that daddy would drop him off and then daddy was going to daddy's class. He said ok. We get to the parking lot and he asked me if he got to play with toys. I started thinking that he was not going to go. Dan went off one way and I went the other. After RS I went to go and find Dan and was sure that Noah would be with him. I found him and no Noah. He went to his class! During Sunday School I thought they would bring him in but he sat all through sharing time as well. So almost October and he finally went. Who knows if it will repeat next week but we are keeping our fingers crossed!
