That's My Boy!

During the summer a new chapel was built across the street from where I live. The building is finally complete and we went to our first meeting there on Sunday. I am grateful that the building in complete. They started in the summer and it was a whole lot of fun for me. Here are some "highlights" of the church being built.

  • I would constantly find my little boy standing next to the fence and finally found his way into the fenced area that they were building the church in.

  • The contractor came and told me that they had to remove the fence and there was going to be a big hole. He wanted to warn me because he had seen my little boy running wild and didn't want him to get hurt.

  • One day I couldn't find my little boy anywhere. I was walking up and down my street starting to get into panic mode. Then I heard him. I looked over and he was in his coat (this was a hot summer day), shorts, had his bike was talking to a construction worker and eating the construction workers lunch. Nice!

  • Looked out my window one day and saw him in the newly poured parking lot riding his bike. I am pretty sure the asphalt was dry at that point...

  • My other little boy came and told me that my little boy was doing something naughty. I went over to where he was and there he was, filling in the holes that they had dug for landscaping purposes. Oh, and he had no shoes on.

  • Found him a couple of times on the "tractors"...no idea what type of construction vehicles they were.

Hopefully all will know who the little boy in the story is. Yep, Noah. How did you know? Oh, did I mention that sometimes I would find him standing next to the construction site in just a shirt and nothing else (not even underwear). I am just waiting for CPS to come knocking on my door. So, I am very grateful that the chapel is complete. Now if I could get him to actually go to his class in the new chapel...I will work on that another day.

Seriously, where does he come up with this?

My children are seriously crazy but the craziest one is Noah. He calls Dan, Dan. He calls him Daddy ocasionally. I try to get him to call him Dad. The other night I told him he needs to call him Dad. He said, "I can't. He is not my dad, he's my Dan." How do you argue with that? However a couple of days before he did state that Dan was his husband so at least now he is just his "Dan".

Go Utes!

My husband is a huge Utes fan. I really couldn't care less but I can pretend with the best of them. Of course we had to watch the Sugar Bowl. (Actually, I was back in the back working) Justin had a couple of friends over and I panicked about how much food I made and teenager boys so I made more than I should have. Here are some pictures from that night.

I was just relieved that they won. Dan is actually really good friends with Robert Johnson (#17) the one that had 2 interceptions. Anyways, the tattoos stayed on Jack's face until I had to use tape to get them off and left nice red marks on his cheeks. Nice. Figured out to add a little oil to a cloth and took Katy's right off. Now I know what to do next time.

Temple Square

We went to Temple Square in SL on New Year's Eve. We went to the church museum to look around. I ended up with Kate and Noah. Noah did not want to be there. I kept trying to distract him but that wasn't working to well. We found a big statue of the Angel Moroni which stands on top of LDS temples. Noah kept calling him the gold guy and asked me if we should bring him a Happy Meal. The other kids seemed to have a good time.

Doesn't she look so happy!
This is better.

Kate and Noah

Kate was really good with the Christmas tree. She pretty much didn't touch the ornaments. She could see her reflection in the glass balls and she would stand there and look at herself.

Noah hard at work. If I could only teach how to do my job...

Noah in the snow.

Noah cleaning the snow with a broom. At least he has clothes on. I found him one morning in a shirt, underwear and a hat.

Christmas

We had a great Christmas. Dan's other kids were down so it made the house seem even smaller. I had stuff everywhere. I swear it shrinks the more things we get in there. They all seemed to have a great time. They woke up about 8:50 am Christmas morning. Good for us parents who don't ever get enough sleep. Here they are opening their gifts.

Noah and his play-doh. Later this day he had all of the colors mixed together and I think now the play-doh is all dry and yucky.
Are you awake?

Katy opening her gift. Noah actually got this out of my closet a couple of days before Christmas and opened it. I kept hearing something and I went to go look and Katy was sitting on my bed playing the piano.

Jack and his operation game. It is even more annoying now than when I was a kid. My sister and I actually gave ours to our babysitter because we hated it so much.

So happy!

Out of the Mouths of Babes

Last night we were having "funeral" potatoes, cheesy potatoes, whatever you call them. I made them with some frozen shredded hash browns. I was trying to get Noah to eat them and I went to give him a bite. He looked at them and said, "these have toe nails in them, that is disgusting." Nice to know that my child thinks I feed him toe nails.
